Q. Is the license I purchased legal and official?
Bitter821 is a legitimate and official reseller listed in Synology website. You can check here. We only sell genuine Synology software to customers. In addition to legal issues, using a genuine license can ensure system stability and prevent the software from suddenly stopping . In addition, we are not aware of the existence of Synology license KeyGenerator.
Q. How to add or remove Synology Surveillance device licenses?
If your Synology device is connected to the internet, log in to Surveillance Station > select “Licenses”. You can then click “+” or “-” to add or remove license codes. If the input license code is already enabled on other devices, you can transfer it to this device using with Synology account associated to those licenses.
Q. Can purchased Synology Surveillance device licenses be transferred or reinstalled to another Synology NAS?
Yes, you can transfer the purchased and registered licenses to another Synology NAS. Go to the target Synology NAS > Lunch “Surveillance Station” > “Licnese” and add the same license. Surveillance Station will prompt that the license is already installed on other devices, and ask to authenticate with the Synology account of the original device. After authentication, the transfer will be completed. The reinstallation progress is same.
Q. Do licenses have an expiration date? Do they need to be updated?
No, they do not. Both the default free license and the purchased license are valid forever.
Q. I didn't receive the license I ordered. What should I do?
Once the order is placed, the license email will be sent immediately. If you haven’t received it, please check your spam folder in your mail system. You can also log in by your account on our website to check. If you still can’t find it, please contact us.
Q. Can Surveillance licenses be installed offline?
Yes, if Surveillance Station is running in an offline environment, you can use Synology Surveillance Station Client or DS cam to manage device licenses offline. For more information, please refer to the Synology website help here.
Q. Does Virtual DSM (vDSM) come with free camera licenses?
Please note that Surveillance Station on vDSM does not come with the default two free camera licenses and must be purchased separately.
Q. Are licenses limited to certain regions?
No, our licenses are not limited to certain regions. They can be legally installed and applied to any Synology NAS in the world.
